Kamala Harris

 Kamala Devi Harris (born October 20, 1964) was an American lawyer, politician, and the current vice president of United States. She is the first woman elected vice president and also holds the title of highest-ranking female officer in the history of America. She is a part of the Democratic Party and was previously the attorney general of California between 2011 and 2017. Additionally, she served as a United States senator representing California between 2017-2021. Harris was born in Oakland and attended Howard University, University of California, Hastings College of the Law. After establishing her career as an Alameda County District Attorney Harris was enlisted to the San Francisco District Attorney's Office. Later she became the City Attorney of San Francisco. In 2003 she was elected San Francisco District Attorney. She was elected Attorney general of California in 2010. In 2014, she was elected to a second term. Harris was the junior United States Senator from California between 2017 until 2021. Harris defeated Loretta Sanchez to become the 2nd African American woman senator and the first South Asian American ever to be elected to the United States Senate. She was a senator who fought for healthcare reform and federal de-scheduling cannabis. A path towards citizenship for migrants who aren't legal. The DREAM Act bans assault weapons and progressive tax reform. She is best known for her sharp questions to Trump administration officials during Senate hearings.
